The majority of our learning time materials come from a few homeschooling blogs that I follow. Most of it is free, but what I did purchase it was for really cheap. I think I paid 10 bucks for the entire “Letter of the Week” curriculum and it’s chucked full of fun activities!
Here is a list of the blogs I use to get all of our learning time stuff!
Confessions of a Homeschooler–
I love the “Letter of the Week” curriculum! From A-Z there are multiple activities that cover letter recognition, beginning phonics, fine motor skills, shapes, colors, and it also has lesson plans! I also purchased the K4 curriculum which is a 34 week lesson plan that includes beginning reading activities, sight words, and handwriting worksheets. I do not follow the curriculum according to the lesson plans, I just kind of pick activities for us to do.
I’ve downloaded several free printables from her blog. Her “Animal ABCs” was great for Little Miss, she really likes animals. I have not gotten a chance to really see Curly Q in action with them, but I’m always excited about introducing new stuff to them. She has waaay more stuff. Check it out!
Another homeschooling mom with lots of resources. She has a lot of themed learning packs that we’ve used before with Little Miss. I like her alphabet playdough mats. I use those a lot with Curly Q for letter tracing and recognition.
With these three blogs I really have all I need to get the girls ready for school. There are so many fun activities, resources to help you organize your homeschooling, and other stuff I haven’t even gotten around to looking at.
Even with all of the information here we try to keep things a little relaxed with learning time. There are times when all we want to do is just sit down and watch TV. If that’s the case, we do it. Hope this is helpful!
